The Art Basel for Environmentalist: Sustainatopia

On Thursday, April 19th, Miami will be kicking off the week long festivities of SUSTAINTOPIA!  With over 15,000 participants ranging from over 40 countires around the World and engaging in over 50 events throughout the week, this summit will be the World Premier event for sustainability around the City of Miami.

IDEAS will be participating and hosting events everyday of the week, including the Revolutions for Social Entrepreneurs party, UM Earth Day, Carnivalia, The Big Fix movie screening and the 3rd Impact Conference!

IDEAS Miami will be coming together to Premeire of Josh & Rebecca Tickell’s new film The Big Fix. The event will be held this Sunday (4/22/12) from 4PM to 7PM @ The Biscayne Nature Center. The event will also showcase two short films produced by local film makers Nick Ducassi and Patrick Rynne. Stick around after the film for a Skype Q&A session with the Director!

Also, for those unable to make that, the Coral Reef chapter of IDEAS will also be screening the film on Tuesday (4/24) at 3:30pm at the Coral Reef High School auditorium.

Greenwaves III brings a New Era of Sustainability

On April 11th, IDEAS For UCF, the UCF Environmental Coalition (E.Co) and the Campus Activities Board came together for the 3rd annual GREENWAVES Sustainable Music & Arts Festival!


This year brought an Electric Vehicle showcase, IDEAS For ARTS display, Piezo-electric Dance Floors, Renewable Energy, Org Fair, Bike-a-Thon, Live music OFF-THE-GRID and some of the best electronic dance music in the World! With over 7500 participants, attending, we were able to generate enough power to charge 250 cellphones by dancing!
