In the Spring of 2010, IDEAS Miami created an official partnership with Shake-a-Leg Miami (SALM), a local non-profit that uses the marine environment to improve the health, education, independence and quality of life for all with an emphasis on individuals with physical, developmental and economic challenges.
The Miami chapter began to sponsor the Diner Key Islands over the course of a year, and engaging students in “Island Clean-ups and Mangrove Restorations“ that taught others about marine biology, native aquatic species and element cycles, as well as engaged K-12 by educating them in experiential learning!
