Off-the-Grid events
As a means of raising awareness about energy consumption and resource conservation in a creative way, I.D.E.A.S. began organizing “Off-the-Grid” events as a fundraiser and engagement activate. Throughout the event, we coordinate phone-banking and petitioning activities in the dark, using no plug-in grid power for our energy and encouraging others to bring others sources of light such as candles and tiki torches.
Similar to “Earth Hour,” the point is to be off-the-grid and show others how we can have a good time without using grid power and contribute to climate change.
